What inspired you to become an artist?

Growing up in a small rural town, my main source of inspiration was the natural environment. I often found myself exploring the wilderness and discovering all kinds of hidden treasures. I was also heavily influenced by my grandmother who was an avid painter and encouraged me to pursue art as a career.

It was through her love and support that I began to find my own creative style and hold onto that creative spark that sustains me to this day.

How has your experience as a Georgia-based artist been?

My experience as a Georgia-based artist has been extremely rewarding. Georgia is such a vibrant and inspiring place with amazing art, music, and cultural scene. Working within these creative circles has allowed me to explore my craft in so many new and exciting ways.

On top of that, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most talented people from around the country including performers, photographers, writers, and designers alike. It’s truly been an amazing journey!

What themes and topics do you like to explore in your work?

I love to explore the idea of identity and connection. To me, identity and connection are such important aspects of our lives. I’ve always believed that if we can connect with each other on a deeper level, we can all better understand who we really are and how our experiences in life shape us.

Through my artwork, I strive to bridge those gaps and create meaningful conversations between people from all walks of life.

What challenges have you faced as an artist?

I think one of the biggest challenges that all artists face is a lack of resources. Things like supplies and materials can be very expensive, especially when you’re just starting out. And even if you manage to scrape together enough money for supplies, art galleries are often difficult to get into.

It takes a lot of dedication and hard work to make your way in the art world but it’s also rewarding. With enough determination and creativity, there’s nothing you can’t overcome!

How do you stay motivated and creative when it comes to creating art?

I stay motivated and creative by not only capturing the world around me but also challenging myself to make something new. From time to time, I like to experiment with different colors, textures, and techniques in order to push the boundaries of my creativity and skills.

Additionally, I like using inspiring quotes or thoughtful words as a way to keep myself motivated during those more difficult times.
